postpartum depression therapy near me

LOOKING FOR A SAFE PLACE TO PROCESS THE COMPLICATED EXPERIENCES OF MOTHERHOOD?

Is the toll of motherhood getting to you?

Do you wonder when it’s going to get easier? You may be tired of the overwhelm, frustration, exhaustion, and demands of mothering. You may be feeling disconnected and isolated, wondering if you’re cut out for motherhood. You might not even remember who you are under all of this. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for change something up. You’re ready to start feeling like yourself again. You’re ready to reconnect with yourself and enjoy life again. Most of all, you’re ready to find joy and contentment in motherhood.

Clients come to me looking for a therapist who TRULY gets the unique needs of moms, because therapy should be a place where you feel seen, and understood. Sessions with me are interactive, warm, and supportive. Together we chart a path out of the darkness and overwhelm. And we always go at your pace, never pushing to a place you don’t feel ready to be.

As an experienced maternal mental health therapist, I believe that what you’re experiencing right now are symptoms; they are not the real you and they are treatable with the right help. You don’t have to continue to suffer, and you don’t have to do it alone. Call, text, or email me today to set up a free 15 minute consultation. I can’t wait to hear from you.

Therapy that’s warm, straightforward, and collaborative

We’re in this together. My job is to support you, give you a nudge in the right direction when I see you veering off course or spinning your wheels, and provide you with the honest, informed, and compassionate feedback that you may not be getting from others in your life.

I help my clients find balance, self-trust, and joy by equipping them with the tools to understand why modern motherhood is so hard, to forgive themselves for what they see as failings or shortcomings (hint: they aren’t actually those things!), and to find a sense of self and purpose again.

Much of the advice moms hear about coping with the demands of motherhood is simply not helpful. Sometimes, it’s actually harmful. We’re told we can handle it. That we’re superheroes. That we just need to enjoy these years while they’re here. Instead of feeling uplifted by these statements, we feel dismissed and unheard. I promise to provide you with a space where you won’t be dismissed. Where you will be seen in all of the messy reality.

How does therapy work?

First, we get a sense of the things causing you the most distress in your daily life. Then we identify concrete, easy to implement strategies to help manage those issues and get some relief. These are things you will be able to use immediately following our first session. As you start to feel more stable, we will begin exploring past experiences, messages and expectations about mothering, and current relationships to understand how these complex dynamics are contributing to what you’re feeling. Through our work together, you will see how you got to the point of reaching out for help, how to let go of things that are keeping you stuck in suffering, and what to do to move forward stronger, healthier, and ready to tackle whatever comes your way.

About Me

I have first hand knowledge of the struggles that can come with motherhood. From infertility and IVF, to postpartum anxiety and rage, to navigating complex family dynamics, and special needs parenting, I’ve had my share of challenges when it comes to mothering. As your therapist, I want to help you overcome these challenges in a space where you feel seen and supported.

I understand how vulnerable you feel when you first meet with a stranger to talk about things you’ve never spoken out loud. And I also know the feeling of relief and the trill of hope when you make the right connection and feel empowered to make meaningful changes in your life. I want to offer that same hope and power to you.

In 2019, I became one of the first clinicians in the country to become certified as a perinatal mental health specialist. This certification required extensive coursework, several years of work with this incredible population, and passing a rigorous exam. It reflects my dedication to serving mothers from preconception to empty-nesting. I received training from Postpartum Support International, as well as an intensive course of study with leading expert Karen Kleiman at the Postpartum Stress Center, and training on fertility from the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.
